Fun Fact: The title supposedly came from an interview where Duane Allman was asked how he was helping the "revolution." He replied, "I'm hitting a blow for peace... and every time I'm in Georgia, I eat a peach for peace."

Sounds like an argument of pros and cons: jobs for people to put food on the table versus people looking for jobs and hungry.

States offer tax incentives to build an economic and employment base. The discussion of taxing after signed agreements only mirrors how Trump operates: do whatever the hell he wants. That’s why companies are leaving the U.S. - for the rule of law and order and stability.

Great music selection.

The exemption made sense to attract initial investment. Virginia is now the world's largest data center hub. The incentive has served its purpose — it is time for these corporations to pay their fair share like everyone else.

Because right now, ordinary Virginians are already paying. We are paying through skyrocketing water and utility bills. We are paying through impacts on our land, our water quality, and our power grids. We are subsidizing billion dollar corporations every single month through our household budgets while they enjoy tax exemptions negotiated without us at the table.

The argument that data centers will leave ignores a simple reality — Northern Virginia's infrastructure, fiber networks, federal proximity, and skilled workforce are irreplaceable. They are not going anywhere.

It is time to stop asking ordinary Virginians to carry the cost of attracting corporations that are already here, already profitable, and already essential. Pay your fair share!

Hope Gov Shamberger is paying attention. A lot of resistance to data centers I’m seeing, but we have to take the long-term into sharp consideration or we’re going to lose in the shorter term. Need some good taxing plans, not just ending up relying on more-more-more from us taxpayers! (imho; thx)
